Sign up to Walk for Green Jobs and Justice
Walking is a tried and true way for activists to carry a vision and link people across communities. We will make sure there are ways anyone can participate and offer their own commitment to Green Jobs and Justice.
Our two biggest actions will be to send off the walkers at the very beginning and to walk the final stretch down Market St from City Hall to PECO.
Walk Send Off: May 8, 8:00am, from Morris Chapel, 2701 N 12th St, Philadelphia, PA.
The Final Mile: May 22, 12:00noon, from Thomas Paine Plaza, Philadelphia City Hall, 1401 John F Kennedy Blvd, Philadelphia, PA.
If you are flexible but can only come a couple days, consider walking the full day on May 8, May 12, or May 22.
Saturday, May 13 from Valley Forge to Norristown will be an especially good day for families. Bring your Mom for Mother's Day!
Most days will go from 9:00am until about 6:00pm- some longer, some shorter. We will walk about 10 miles with a support van to carry supplies and offer transport for those who need it. Both Sundays are planned as rest days. There will be specific action times on other days if you can only join for an hour or two. Volunteers and supporters will be needed throughout for food, transportation, and other logistics. Make sure we have what we need by donating to our gift registry.
As we plan, it will help us to have an idea who is available on which days. Just give us your best guess, you won’t be locked in.
We're still working on the details, so once you sign up, we'll send more information as it comes clear.
