POSTPONED: Indigenous Delegation Solidarity Action

The Indigenous leaders from Peru do not yet have their visas, so their visit to Vanguard headquarters has been postponed until later this fall. Please take the September 23 action off your calendar and stay tuned for a future opportunity to support them.

Vanguard has no policy protecting Indigenous rights, but it has many investments that violate them, including in Enbridge, Chevron, and Petroperú. A delegation led by Achuar People – Indigenous peoples of the Peruvian Amazon – is coming to the U.S. to speak to those profiting from the destruction of their communities and to urge them to remove financial support for fossil fuel projects. They have asked Vanguard leadership for a meeting to share their specific concerns about the plans of Petroperú, the latest oil company to covet their region, and ask Vanguard to end its complicity. Come join them in support!

Let us know if there is a financial barrier to participating in this action, such as transportation, childcare, or lost wages. We have funds available. Please email Ryan at [email protected] for more information and to share what would support you to attend.
