General meetings are held virtually most months. While COVID rates are falling from high in the Philadelphia region, when meeting for in-person indoor activities, we encourage masks and COVID testing beforehand. EQAT expects that those who are eligible will be vaccinated and boosted against COVID in order to participate in in-person activities.

Meeting for Worship with Attention to Leadership for a Livable Future

Vanguard continues to be the world’s number one investor in fossil fuels, with about $269 billion invested in fossil fuel companies and over $180 billion invested in fossil fuel expansion alone. Under the leadership of CEO Tim Buckley, it has also decreased support for environmental and social justice action at the companies in which it invests, and defended leaving its largest climate commitment. Now that Buckley has announced he will retire at the end of 2024, Vanguard has an important opportunity to change course. Quakers, other people of faith, and those committed to the kind of leadership needed to create a livable planet for all of us will join together for a worshipful action to pray that Vanguard seize this opportunity. All are invited to join us! To participate in person on Thursday, May 2nd at 11am at Vanguard headquarters in Malvern, PA, register below.

Voices of Vanguard’s Impact and Visions for a Livable Future

Join EQAT and allies fighting fossil fuel projects in their communities for a large mobilization on July 3rd in the afternoon at Vanguard’s headquarters in Malvern, PA. At this action, we will stand together to share the impacts of Vanguard’s investment in fossil fuel expansion like the Mountain Valley Pipeline, and we will renew our commitment to take action until Vanguard changes course. As Vanguard searches for its next CEO, we are showing up to say that we expect the new CEO to show true leadership for a livable planet.
All are welcome; this is a family friendly action! Quakers from around the country who are in the area for the FGC gathering are especially encouraged to join us.
The action will be on July 3rd in the afternoon, but the exact time is subject to change. Register now to receive updates about transportation and timing details.
