Building Collective Power Intensive

While systems of white supremacy and hate threaten many in our communities, in the Power Local Green Jobs campaign, we're preparing for the long haul. We know that our vision for a world of safety, dignity, and thriving for all our people is possible, if we harness our collective power for collective action.

That's part of why EQAT is hosting a one and a half day Building Collective Power Intensive: Organizing and Leadership training. It will be held in Philadelphia, September 16th (9am-6pm) & 17th (1pm-6pm) at Timmons House, Penn Charter School: 3850 The Oak Road, Philadelphia, PA 19129.

During the Building Collective Power Intensive, we intend to explore the following:

  • Various frameworks, principles, and facilitation tools meant to support effectiveness in building groups
  • Practice in core skills of community organizing
  • Tools to map and support reaching new people & groups
  • Working across racial & class difference authentically & effectively

Various levels of experience are welcome! This intensive will use energizing activities to support participants to identify their personal organizing style and how to support their group to work together effectively and move closer to the goals of the Power Local Green Jobs campaign.

This training is for those in EQAT and POWER's networks who have some experience with the PLGJ campaign or who hope to grow their skills as part of the campaign, whether convening a meeting, making calls to recruit for an event, inviting your friends to join, or planning an action.
