Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting in Philadelphia, PA

Instructor Katy Hawkins is generously offering this 90-minute Sunday evening yoga class at Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting as a fundraiser for EQAT.  Come keep the energy of EQAT's fall actions going with live music, good company, and a campaign update, in the nourishing self-care of a yoga class.

Past fundraisers with Katy have supported Black Lives Matter, Ferguson, Innocence Project, Fairhill Cemetery, Alternatives to Violence, and others.  Bring a friend and come support EQAT and be refreshed!

Stay tuned for ticket details; additional donations gratefully accepted throughout the evening.

Katy Hawkins, Ph.D, teaches wonder, joy, and sanity in Philadelphia. Private sessions, public classes, retreats, and special workshops help students move into their own wholeness by freeing up body and mind.  Katy's teaching combines a spirit of play with challenges to drop down into deeper states of being. We all have a handful of stale patterns in our emotional, intuitive, creative and conceptual lives that we're better off without.

Students are offered gentle guidance in exploring these stuck spots to break gridlock. Katy's fresh fusions of spiritual insight with physical and meditation practices are peppered with spontaneous moments of poetry and humor. She draws from a storehouse of rich sources - literary, philosophical, and sacred - that cut across faith traditions. Co-creating a safe space in which to stretch body and spirit, students connect with their own inner knowing to come away clearer, grounded, and more joyful.   Learn more at katyhawkinsyoga.com.

Day of Action: Phoenixville-- Big Change for Green Jobs

Thursday, December 07, 2017 at 10:00 AM
PECO Phoenixville Service Center in Phoenixville, PA

Our utility company PECO has deep pockets, but a shallow vision for protecting our planet and creating jobs in our community.  Like a bad penny, Power Local Green Jobs activists have kept showing up, drawing attention to PECO’s penchant for small changes.  We are calling for PECO to commit to real change: sourcing 20% solar by 2025, prioritizing jobs in low income areas.

On December 7, across the region in a multi-county day of action, we’ll be delivering pennies to PECO--representing the small change the company has put forward so far--and offer a big change vision PECO needs to adopt.

Will you join us?

Action sites in Philadelphia, Berwyn, Phoenixville, and Warminster.
